Tintoretto's surname is sometimes given as Comin. Wikipedia turns to historian Stefania Mason to clear this up: it stems from the discovery and publication in 2004 of a "fanciful account" in a letter of 1678 to a Spanish art collector, from his agent in Venice ... "Robusti is the name that appears in his tax declarations" and other official documents.
